The interior design of Next Hub University, supports students' school/life balance with a complementary color scheme and a childcare center. Hourly childcare is provided to support the growing number of student parents. Blue and red play off of each other in the Next Hub University design. Therefore, the color blue helps calm while the color red invigorates the attendees of Next Hub. Additionally, orange and green are used in the Active Learning classroom. Orange is used to give off warmth and excitement while green is used to show growth and balance. Color blocking and area rugs assist in developing spatial definition. Colors are distributed in a pleasing way so that the space is not overwhelming, but welcoming and reawakening. Red and blue are also mirrored in the many pieces of artwork throughout the space. Balance is repeated in the “Artist Studio,” as seen in the choice of color and artwork. This area is where people can come to create, relax, and express themselves through any medium expect for technology.   Large amounts of natural light are incorporated into the Artist Studio. Statistics show that employees work better and get more sleep when they have access to daylight; therefore, my design concept supports this evidence-based design by having an atmosphere that is warm and inviting with large windows that allow natural daylight into all the classrooms.
